Over the millennia the human race has come far, so very far, and yet in the matters most central to who we are, we are as lost as they were when they wrote the Bible. You would think that with the incredible amount of time we save through technology, and how much pain we avoid through modern medicine, that life today would be a kind of paradise, people free to live in perfect tune with their hearts, manifesting the very peak of human potential. But then you turn on the news.
Don’t despair. Rome wasn’t built in a day, and we can’t unbuild it that quickly, either. The mess we have made for ourselves and our planet cannot be tidied-up overnight. But we need a plan for where to begin. The key, I believe, lies right where you are standing now.
Coming home is finding your own strength, becoming friends with yourself, and developing an unshakable peace inside your own being. Home is where you belong. I am dedicated to helping you come home.
Core values
As you explore this site you will see that it is a place where we:
- seek a fresh perspective and inspiration for our lives
- work for acceptance of our selves and our worlds, because positive and lasting change comes not through conquering, but through love and nonviolence.
- explore ways to find authentic peace while living in a global technological society that is unlike any humanity has yet seen.
- have learned that depth of character is not a commodity that can be bought or sold, and that it is often gained only by going against the grain of conventional wisdom.
- know that happiness is now or never.

A bit about me
A wise man said to me that if he were to sum up the journey of life in a nutshell, in just one sentence, it would be the path going from your surname to your first name.
I am Kit Johnson. Johnson is my heritage, a family dedicated to pursuing the god of the Christian Bible. This is a spirituality of fervent prayer, a factual understanding of scripture, and a longing to see God intervening in the here and now. For Johnsons, rest is something we don’t get to enjoy until heaven; this life is about the fight of the good Christian soldier.
I gave my heart and soul to this god. After two decades of this, however, one day I woke up to find that God had gone away, and when I waited for his return, I found only disappointment. It quickly emerged that from now on I was to be on my own, and like a newly-orphaned child, I had to learn how to live again.
Becoming a New Age Flower Guy
After six months as an atheist, experiencing raw pain and freedom as a solo traveller on the road in Asia, the pull of religion became once again too strong. I needed some kind of safety, and so I tentatively started meditating, doing Tai Chi, and soon was talking about how things “are all one.” I felt a mystical calling to learn Reiki in New Zealand, and when I floated back to England, after one year solo backpacking all around the world, my family found me in a state of impregnable calm.
But it wasn’t real. Discovering the real Kit has been a repeated series of attempts to hide myself in the safety of a spiritual identity, and so losing myself, followed by awakening to a way of living that is genuine, that is in tune with who I really am.
The journey has been tough, but I would never trade the authentic life I have found for something safer but less real.

Life in Bangkok
I moved to Thailand in 2007, setting myself-up as an English teacher, Reiki practitioner, and writer. I run a website with information about how to learn Reiki in Bangkok, and another website which is a Reiki healers and masters directory. I now live with my wife, Pooky, not far from Sukhumvit road. If you’re passing through Bangkok, drop me a line!
How can you say you were a soldier of God, and never even (in 20 years) knew his true name. This is the place to start: Psalm 83:18 Please check older Bible versions, as newer ones have removed it.
Great “Start here” page.
Thanks, Dan. Nice to get a positive comment on this page. I’m still thinking about how to reply to ‘moi’. : )
Hadn’t read this page prior to today Kit, reading the about & core values was like a mini guided-meditation. Looking forward to you (hopefully) writing some more in this space :)
Thank you so much, Andrew! I really appreciate what you said there.
I’m so stoked about, well everything… I have so much energy to give this website, as well as my other two websites, as well as my job, as well as the house… have I taken on too much? Probably! But there’s nothing I could put down right now, I love all these projects and want to see them thrive. It’s just time, time, time.
Anyway, thanks again for your big encouragement.
